The Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a 2024 catamaran built for cruising comfort and ease of handling. At 41.27 feet in length with a 23.62-foot beam, it combines the layout and amenities of larger models in a size that one person or a small crew can manage. The helmstation is positioned for two and offers clear sightlines to the main living areas. Power comes from two Volvo Penta diesel engines at 100 hp each.
The owner's version features three cabins and three heads. The starboard hull houses the main owner's suite with an Italian shower and separate toilet. The aft guest cabin on the port side has its own head with separate shower, and the third cabin also includes an independent head.
Equipment is extensive for long-range cruising. The boat carries full Garmin electronics with radar, solar panels (3 x 100W), a 2000VA converter, a 105-liter watermaker, complete heating, and a 3.4-meter tender with a 15 hp engine. The deck features electric winches, an electric platform for the tender and bathing platform, complete cockpit and helm enclosures, synthetic deck material, a gaff-rigged mainsail, and gennaker. Below deck are two refrigerators, a freezer, and three electric heads. Audio and television systems are installed.
The boat has been meticulously maintained by its owner and has never been chartered. It remains in excellent condition throughout.
