2024 Outremer 52

The 2024 Outremer 52 is a modern ocean-cruising catamaran built around a design that combines the seaworthiness of the Outremer 51 with refinements proven by the 55. The 52-foot hull spans nearly 26 feet beam and is powered by twin 100-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engines. The boat was delivered new in May 2024 and has since logged over 6,800 nautical miles, including participation in the 2024 ARC Rally, where it achieved a recorded top speed of 22.4 knots and maintained regular daily averages between 9.5 and 14 knots.

The interior follows a three-cabin layout designed by Franck Darnet, with the owner's cabin featuring a king-size bed and two additional cabins—one configured as a flexible space with bunks and a desk suitable for both family cruising and remote work. Two heads with electric toilets serve the accommodations. The saloon and cockpit offer generous volume, with a convertible salon table that includes a mattress. The galley includes induction and gas cooking with an oven, and fresh water systems include a 100-liter-per-hour watermaker and pressurized systems throughout.

Power and electrical systems are extensively upgraded with 12,000W of lithium-ion battery capacity split across three batteries, 2,140 watts of solar panels mounted on the bimini and davits, and a 3000W inverter with multiple outlets. Navigation and engine monitoring are handled by Simrad H5000 electronics packages. The boat carries a comprehensive inventory of sails including a main, jib, asymmetric and heavy-weather spinnakers, gennaker, staysail, and code O, along with electric winches, a windlass, and furling systems. Additional equipment includes a 90-liter freezer, full canvas enclosure and window covers, life raft, protective skegs, antifouling treatment, and a 35-kilogram anchor with chain and rope. Engine hours stand at approximately 450 on each motor as of May 2025. The boat includes Starlink communications hardware installed and ready, plus dual 13-kilogram LPG tanks that remain full and unused.
