The Scout 281 XSS is a bay boat built on a composite hull and engineered for both inshore fishing and light offshore work. It combines a sleek design with practical fishability: a full-length casting foredeck, expansive rear deck, dual stern bait and fish boxes, and ample rod storage make it well-suited to serious angling.
Power comes from a single Mercury 400 V10 engine with 49 hours on it. The boat is equipped with dual Garmin 8612 chartplotters, Garmin VHF radio, and a B75H transducer for navigation and fish-finding. A self-contained head with overboard discharge provides onboard facilities.
Electronics and comfort features include a JL Audio deluxe stereo system, XM antenna, and Garmin sunshade. Fishing capability is enhanced by Taco GS300 outriggers with 19-foot carbon fiber poles, twin Powerpole anchors, a MinnKota iPilot trolling motor, and SMX 94 underwater lights. The cockpit benefits from upgraded Grigio cushions and features rocket launchers and a light bar. The hull is finished in Shark Gray with Midnight and Carbon Edition accents.
