2024 Scout 281 XSS

The 2024 Scout 281 XSS is a 28-foot center console built on a composite hull and powered by a single Mercury 400 Verado outboard engine, capable of reaching 43 knots with a cruising speed around 29 knots. The boat features a comprehensive electronics suite including a Garmin 8616xsv multifunction display, Garmin transducer, and VHF radio, supported by a Lewmar Pro Series windlass and properly ground-tackled with a plow anchor, chain, and rode system.

The boat is equipped for both inshore and offshore fishing with a leaning post livewell, integrated rod holders on the hardtop and stainless steel rod holders throughout, raw water wash-down systems with Shurflo pumps, and a fish box with macerator discharge. Twin Power Pole blade anchors provide additional station-keeping capability. A Minn Kota Riptide Ultera 36-volt trolling motor with automatic deploy and stow rounds out the propulsion options.

Creature comforts include upgraded Grigo cushioning, NuTeak composite decking, fore and aft canvas shade systems, a Fusion stereo with JL Audio speakers, custom lighting with hardtop spreaders and accent lights, wireless phone chargers at the helm, and a retractable fresh water shower. A Jabsco electric toilet and onboard freshwater system support extended time on the water. The electrical system features three Deka Group 31 AGM house batteries, a dedicated 36-volt lithium trolling motor battery, dual ProMariner chargers, and Blue Sea automatic switches with remote control.

The engine shows 73 hours of use with warranty coverage through April 2027. An engine battery was newly installed in May 2026. A fresh coat of bottom paint was applied, and the boat includes upgraded paint in Pearl White, a power-adjustable jack plate, and Zipwake trim tabs.
