The 2026 Bass Cat Cougar FTD SP is a 20-foot fiberglass bay boat built with performance and tournament fishing in mind. The hull uses vinyl ester resin on 60 percent of the outer laminate for strength, and the boat is available in both the established Legacy Bass Cat 20 hull design and the new Hybrid 203 hull. It draws from a philosophy of careful planning: every storage area—center console access, rear deck lockers, under-seat compartments, and dedicated bait trays—is positioned to let anglers reach gear without disrupting rod placement or deck layout.
The console is designed to accommodate larger single or dual GPS units, with improved access to the rear storage. Twin Power Pole pump doors sit above drop-in bait trays, and Wave Crusher bucket seats with integrated storage provide the primary seating. Two fully insulated coolers sit in the dual cockpit area. Deck lighting is integrated with push-button controls, and navigation electronics include dual Helix 7 CHIRP GPS units. The boat features two rod boxes with one organizer, mooring cleats, stainless steel latches, and plano tackle trays throughout.
Propulsion comes from a matched engine paired with a Slidemaster jackplate and a choice of 3-blade prop. A Minn Kota Fortrex 80 45-inch 24V trolling motor handles shallow water, backed by a 3-bank charger. The fuel system holds 52 gallons across two 26-gallon tanks. Livewells include pump-in and pump-out capability with lighted interiors. Steering is hydraulic with tilt, and an interactive digital switch panel controls the dual 1000 GPH bilge pumps and integrated 48V battery test gauge. Wiring runs tinned throughout with 6-gauge buss strips to the console. Ventilation, lighted hand rails, an integrated stainless ladder, and lighted safety boxes round out the build.
