The Chittum 18 Laguna Madre Carbon is built entirely from carbon fiber—hull, deck, console, and platforms—making it exceptionally light and responsive. Powered by a Yamaha F70LB engine, it features a tunnel hull system designed for ultra-shallow water operation. The boat rides on a Ramlin single-axle aluminum trailer equipped with aluminum wheels, spare tire, walk board, and transom tie downs, and is dry-launch capable with a swing tongue.
The cockpit layout prioritizes fishing functionality. The boat includes a pro 12-inch casting platform and removable poling platform with step, both finished in gray sea-dek. Rod storage consists of five forward-facing conventional racks on the starboard side and three aft-facing fly rod racks to port. A small cooler console and large rear seat cushion provide on-water comfort. The removable carbon fiber rear tray adds flexibility to the aft deck.
Details throughout reflect meticulous attention to fishing needs. Equipment includes a black Bobs Action Jackplate with blinker switch and water pressure gauge, stainless steel trim tabs, V-Marine push pole holders, and under-gunnel courtesy lights. The Stiffy cavitation plate and Baumann prop round out the drivetrain. The 21-gallon fuel cell supports extended range. Color treatment spans Matterhorn white hull with medium gray spray rails, two-tone deck, medium gray console, and silver gray upholstery. An Edson black fiber steering wheel and black sea-dek under the gunnels complete the finish.
