The Excess 13 is a 42-foot catamaran that combines the fluid lines and performance characteristics of the larger XS 14 with a more accessible layout. Winner of the Family Cruiser award at Düsseldorf 2026 and Voile Magazine's Sailboat of the Year, this model synthesizes the company's range by integrating features rarely found together: a spacious head with shower, owner's cabin with island bed, dedicated office, chart table, and generous stowage throughout including a forward storage locker and dressing room.
The boat comes equipped with the Performance Pulse Line package, which includes Elvstrom Triradial sails in grey Proradial fabric, extended boom, cockpit enclosure, integrated davits, and dual helm stations. The unified salon and cockpit area provide comfort and sight lines in one continuous space. A swimming platform with integrated protection completes the outdoor design.
Electronics include AIS, radar, VHF, and two 12-inch Garmin GPS chartplotters with worldwide charts. The diesel Yanmar engine powers the catamaran, supported by integrated systems throughout the fiberglass hull. Additional systems and equipment options are available, including lithium batteries, solar panels, Code 0 sail, tender with bracket, and inflatable dinghy.
This is hull number 45, coming available in autumn 2026 with a single owner's cabin layout and two additional berths positioned for guest comfort.
