The Fountaine Pajot FP55 is a 55.71-foot composite catamaran designed for extended cruising with space and comfort at its core. At nearly 17 meters in beam, the hull provides the deck area and interior volume typical of much larger monohulls. A defining feature is the owner's suite located in one hull, paired with a second suite in the opposite hull—an arrangement rare in catamarans this size that eliminates the need to share primary accommodations. The boat offers flexible cabin configurations: the owner's version sleeps ten across five cabins with five heads, though alternative layouts provide four cabins or a six-cabin charter setup.
Living spaces are distributed across three distinct areas: the aft cockpit, forward cockpit, and an expansive flybridge that houses sail controls and serves as a commanding observation platform. Below deck, the saloon and galley are laid out for both entertaining and daily living.
Power comes from twin Yanmar 4JH110 diesel engines. Sail plan includes a full-batten mainsail with lazy bag and jack, alongside a twin-sheet genoa system. Electric winches service both sails, and an electric windlass handles ground tackle. Auxiliary systems comprise a freshwater pump, pressurized seawater, hot and cold water distribution, and a substantial 5000W charger-converter. A three-phase 220V electrical network runs throughout, with 3800W of solar panels on the hardtop providing supplementary power.
Navigation equipment includes a Garmin package with dual 12-inch displays, one positioned at the helm and the other for tactical use. An aft platform with hydraulic operation and a tender garage complete the feature set. The hull has been treated with antifouling and epoxy primer.
