2026 Grand Soleil 42 Long Cruise

The 2026 Grand Soleil 42 Long Cruise is a modern cruising sailboat built on a fiberglass hull with a multiaxial E-glass and closed-cell PVC foam core construction. The design combines a tall aluminum mast with rod rigging and hydraulic backstay, Harken battcar and furling systems, and electric winches for ease of handling. Propulsion comes from a 50 hp Volvo diesel engine with sail drive and folding propeller, paired with a 45-gallon fuel tank. A retractable bow thruster provides additional maneuvering capability. The boat draws 6 feet 3 inches with its lead bulb keel and sits on a shallow-draft L-shaped design suitable for cruising.

The three-cabin layout provides comfortable accommodation for extended voyages. The owner's cabin features a full-size island berth with ensuite head and shower, overhead hatches, and generous storage. Two matching guest cabins aft each have a double bed, hull windows, hanging lockers, and overhead access. The salon includes a folding dinette on port and a chart table to starboard, with an L-shaped galley forward of the companionway. A second head with shower serves the guest areas. Throughout the interior, oak cabinetry, hull windows, and LED lighting create a warm living space.

The cockpit features helm seats port and starboard with a hydraulic swim platform and hot/cold shower. Flexiteek non-skid decking, Sunbrella canvas, twin helm wheels with instrument pods, and full rigging control at hand make the boat practical for single or double-handed sailing. Electronics include B&G Triton², Zeus3 9-inch chartplotter with integrated GPS, autopilot, VHF, and AIS transponder. The electrical system comprises three 90 Ah service batteries, an 80-amp charger, and 12V/110V inverter supporting both systems throughout the boat.
