The Mazarin 55 Hybrid EVO II is a 55-foot fiberglass catamaran with a parallel hybrid propulsion system developed by E-Motion Italy. Power comes from twin Yanmar diesel engines rated at 400 hp each, paired with two 145 kW electric drive motors, an electronic clutch system, two 15 kW inverters, and dual 79 kWh battery banks certified by Lloyds and RINA. The boat carries 10,300 watts of solar generation via Renogy ShadowFlux panels and a 15 kW battery charger with switchable voltage and frequency inputs. The configuration allows multiple operational modes: pure diesel power up to 25 knots, electric-only cruising at 7 knots continuous or 10 knots with one diesel acting as generator at 2.2 liters per hour, or single diesel operation with the second engine as generator, equipped with a ZF trawling valve and folding propellers.
The yacht accommodates five cabins and five heads across its 27.5-foot beam, providing substantial living space typical of the catamaran format. Cruising speed is rated at 10 knots, with maximum speed reaching 23 knots.
The hybrid architecture is designed for efficiency and operational flexibility, allowing cruising under electric power for reduced fuel consumption or switching to diesel when greater range or speed is required. Alternative engine configurations are available with larger 440 hp Yamar units or smaller 370 hp options while maintaining performance targets of up to 18 knots.
