The Scout 261 XSS is a 26-foot composite-hulled bay boat powered by a single Mercury 400 hp gasoline engine. Designed as an inshore-offshore crossover, it combines Scout's luxury finish with serious fishing capability. The hull features aggressive lines and high-performance construction built for shallow-water operation and open-water range.
The boat carries substantial fishing infrastructure. Large casting decks fore and aft provide working space, while port and starboard aerated baitwells keep live bait fresh. Rod storage is ample throughout, and a console coffin box offers additional stowage. The 8.5-foot beam maximizes interior volume and stability.
Available upgrades include mercury outboard options up to 350 hp, Garmin electronics packages with dual 1243XSV displays, VHF radio, and fishfinding transducers. A leaning post option incorporates a bait prep station with sink, tackle drawers, trash receptacle, and helm seating with folding bolsters. Additional equipment options cover washing systems, a self-contained head, anchor rode kit, dual Powerpoles for anchoring, and a Garmin trolling motor with battery package. Audio and cushioning packages are also available.
