2026 Scout 281 XSS

The Scout 281 XSS is a 28-foot bay boat built on a composite hull, designed for fishing and coastal cruising. Power comes from outboard engines, available in single or twin configurations. The boat rides on trim tabs and a ZipWake interceptor system for refined handling across varying conditions. A 6-inch hydraulic jackplate raises and lowers the engine for shallow-water access.

The layout centers on fishing functionality. Tackle storage is distributed across forward and aft fishboxes, with additional gear space in a console coffin box and stern storage box that doubles as a backrest. A slide-out Yeti cooler provides convenient beverage and bait storage. The leaning post includes an integrated baitwell and cutting board for processing catch. Twin helm seats with bolsters support the driver and passenger.

Accommodations include a portable head and a fiberglass hardtop with integrated acrylic windshield for weather protection.
