This 1958 custom 38-foot sloop was designed by Ben Seaborn and built in Denmark by Augie Walsted. Seaborn's final design before his death, only four examples were constructed—this is the sole build outside the United States. The hull is mahogany planked with a plywood deck finished in non-skid fiberglass. She carries a three-cylinder Yammer diesel with approximately 250 hours of engine time and cruises at 6 knots with a maximum speed of 8 knots.
The sailing rig reflects both original thoughtfulness and modern upgrades. Hydraulic aft stay tensioning and a wooden tiller were advanced features for her time and contribute to her continued competitive performance under sail. The deck includes roller furling with self-tailing winches, a main halyard led to the cockpit for self-handling, and an electric windlass. A spinnaker is aboard, and a water maker provides additional cruising independence.
Below deck, the layout comprises two cabins and a single head. Over the past three years, comprehensive refurbishment has touched every system and component of the boat. The hull was hauled and repainted in July 2023. She is outfitted with contemporary sailing amenities throughout, blending her historical significance with modern cruising capability.
