1961 Custom Sparkman & Stephens

Nova is a 40-foot wooden sailing yacht built in 1961 by Driscoll's Boatyard to a Sparkman & Stephens design. She combines classic lines with solid construction, powered by a single 20-horsepower Kubota diesel engine. The yacht cruises at 6 knots with a top speed of 8 knots, making her well-suited for both coastal passagemaking and day sailing.

The hull is wood and has been maintained throughout its history at established marine facilities. The boat has seen regular use in local yacht club racing and the Marblehead Corinthian Classics. Currently, the hull is undergoing a fresh paint job; once complete, only mast stepping and launch preparations remain to return her to the water.
