1961 William Garden Custom
About This Yacht
This 1961 William Garden Custom is a 32-foot wooden tug designed by the renowned naval architect William Garden. Built with classic displacement hull lines, generous beam, and purposeful proportions, the boat combines traditional craftsmanship with the seaworthiness that defines Garden designs.
Recent work has substantially renewed the boat. New systems include a Dickinson diesel galley range and cabin heater, Garmin GPS and XSV Chartplotter MFD, Standard Horizon VHF radio, and complete rewiring of the electrical system. The exhaust system was replaced in 2024, a fresh water tank was installed, the windshield is new, and new teak handrails have been fitted. Forward and aft deck awnings now rest on a new aluminum pipe frame. A full engine service was completed in April 2025.
The hull received new anti-fouling and zincs in 2025. Cabin lighting has been upgraded throughout. A survey is available for review.
