This 1965 William Hand design is a 45-foot wooden sailing yacht originally built as a west coast troller and substantially rebuilt in 1985 for cruising. The yellow cedar carvel-planked hull features a full keel and round chine, supported by oak ribs and yellow cedar stringers. The deck is fiberglass over marine plywood with high solid bulwarks. A BMC British Leyland 58 hp diesel powers the yacht, rebuilt in 2005 with minimal hours since then. The boat has been extensively updated: rigging, chainplates, and spreaders replaced in 2018; electrical systems and decks redone in 2014; hull work completed in 2024; and the varnished Douglas fir mast refinished in 2025.
The interior combines functionality with traditional elegance, finished in varnished Honduras mahogany cabinetry and cabin soles. Entering through the companionway, you reach a galley with ample preparation space and excellent sightlines. Forward lies the salon with a large settee and pilot berth to port. A private head with shower serves the accommodation. The navigation table sits to starboard beside another pilot berth. Four deck prisms provide natural light throughout, and a Phoenix drip diesel heater warms the cabin.
The cockpit is large and well-protected, with extending seats for comfort and a tiller with two interchangeable lengths for inshore and offshore sailing. A broad foredeck accommodates active sail handling. The galley features a Force 10 LPG stove and oven with an in-built ice box. A movable galley table extends entertaining options to the cockpit.
The boat carries an extensive sail suite including mainsail on new track, yankee, 120 percent genoa, reefing staysail, storm trysail, and spare mains and jibs. Standing rigging was renewed in 2021–2022. A Lofrans Tigres 12-volt windlass, 60-pound plow anchor with spare 40-pound Danforth, and 250 feet of 7/16-inch chain with additional rode complete the deck gear. Electrical systems include 120-volt shore power, a ProMariner 40-amp charger, and separate house and engine start battery banks. Navigation instruments include an Aquameter Saturn compass, depth sounder, SR Mariner knotmeter, and Electro Marine Systems wind speed indicator. The boat was last hauled out in July 2025 with anti-fouling applied in 2024.
