This 1966 Tripp 31 masthead sloop is a thoroughly restored cruising sailboat completed by its current owner over two decades beginning in 2003. The fiberglass hull underwent professional cosmetic and structural work, with keel bolts inspected and found sound. The boat received an Awlgrip paint job on topsides, deck, and cabin, along with new mahogany toe rails, grab rails, hatches, and cockpit trim. Custom bronze mid-ship cleats and a bow roller were cast and installed, and the deck was fitted with Lewmar self-tailing sheet winches, a refurbished windlass, and original stanchions backed with G-10 plates.
Below, the interior cabinetry retained its original quality and was refinished with hand-rubbed varnish. New systems were installed throughout: custom wiring in conduits with a control panel by Oceans Pursuits, Groco thru-hulls, new stainless plumbing with pressurized hot water, a Sea Frost refrigeration unit, and a Cozy Cabin heater. The galley received new countertops, a sink, and a 2-burner stove installed in 2020. A holding tank was added to the single head. The boat carries a stainless bow tank and a refurbished keel tank with potable coating.
Power comes from a Westerbeke 3-cylinder 27 hp diesel with a custom muffler, paired with a refurbished auxiliary foot pump system. The sailing inventory includes a Doyle main with three reefing points and a Harken roller-furling 120% jib, both managed with new standing rigging and lifelines installed in 2012 and a Regatta Braid mainsheet and blocks added in 2013. A new Raymarine digital radar was fitted in 2014. The boat is outfitted with an asymmetrical spinnaker, a propane grill, and a dodger by Shoals Canvas completed in 2015.
