This 32-foot wooden yacht was built in 1970 by W.A. Souter & Sons in Cowes using their signature cold-moulded construction technique, designed by Ray Hunt. Originally commissioned as Laksfors III, the boat competed in the 1971 Cowes-Torquay-Cowes powerboat race. It remained with one family throughout its life, used primarily for weekend cruising and holidays rather than intensive service.
The boat is powered by twin six-cylinder Yanmar turbocharged diesel engines driving RTS drive-legs, each having completed approximately 345 hours since major overhaul. The engines deliver 630 horsepower combined, with a maximum speed of 38 knots and cruising speed of 28 knots. Trim tabs are fitted for performance management.
Accommodation comprises a single cabin and one head. The yacht's 32-foot length and 9.5-foot beam reflect its racing heritage and suitability for open-water performance. The cold-moulded wooden construction, originally fitted with twin Mercruiser engines during its racing years, has been preserved and updated with modern diesel power while maintaining the character of this one-off design.
