1973 Nautor Swan 44

This 1973 Nautor Swan 44 is a Sparkman & Stephens design built for serious blue-water cruising and ocean racing. The fiberglass hull combines the builder's reputation for robust construction with timeless performance and seaworthiness. Power comes from a Yanmar 75 hp turbocharged diesel engine with a dripless shaft seal and MaxProp propeller; the engine has logged approximately 1060 hours and underwent service in August 2025.

The interior features teak and African Koto woodwork throughout two cabins with berths for eight people, along with one head equipped with an electric fresh-water flush system. The galley includes a two-burner LPG stove and oven installed in 2020, complemented by hot water on demand via a hydronic diesel cabin heater and a five-gallon electric hot water tank. A 2200W Victron inverter and battery charger provide power management.

Navigation and safety systems include a B&G suite with autopilot for ocean sailing (added in 2018), VHF radio with AIS, and a Viking near-coastal life raft. The deck layout features twelve self-tailing Meissner winches. An auxiliary 58-gallon stainless steel fuel tank extends range, while a Zodiac tender with 5 hp outboard and davit system round out the cruising package.

The boat was hauled for bottom paint and zinc replacement in September 2025. The hull carries fiberglass decks and maintains the classic Swan pedigree of seaworthiness and performance across a cruising speed of 7.3 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots.
