This 1974 Frostad-built steel fishing boat is a purpose-built commercial trawler designed for West Coast operations. At 66'9" with a 20-foot beam, the hull is constructed of heavy steel with 12 tons of added keel bar for superior stability and roll dampening. The boat has proven itself over decades of service, offering excellent seakeeping and performance when fully loaded.
Power comes from a Cummins KT19A diesel engine rated at 580 horsepower, paired with a Twin Disc reduction gear, nozzle steering, and three rudders for responsive handling and strong thrust at low speeds. Engine hours stand at 6,402. Fuel capacity totals 45,000 liters across three tanks. A John Deere 6076T turbocharged auxiliary engine powers the hydraulic systems, while a 15-kilowatt Kubota generator provides electrical power. A John Deere freezer system with Carrier compressor is installed for on-board holding or processing.
The deck is well equipped for commercial fishing: hydraulic anchor winches (rebuilt in 2022), double net drums, trawl winches with 800 fathoms of wire, and multiple rigging options including boom and vanging gear. Insulated fiberglass holds can accommodate 125,000 pounds of fresh groundfish, 33,000 blocks of frozen fish, or 98 tons of herring. Navigation and fish-finding electronics include dual Furuno radars, GPS, JRC sounder, two computers, three VHF radios, autopilot, and AIS.
Accommodations include five berths, a diesel stove, galley with stainless steel sink, head with shower, and hot water. A recent 4-year inspection included ultrasound testing to confirm hull integrity and steel thickness. New exhaust muffler has been installed. All fishing gear is reported in good condition, with two sets of doors included.
