1974 Pearson 30

This 1974 Pearson 30 is a William Shaw design built during the model's production run as a respected coastal cruiser. The boat features a fiberglass hull with a 9.5-foot beam and carries a full sail plan including a 130% Genoa on Hood Endless Furler, a fully-battened mainsail with lazy jack system, and a spinnaker. A 28 hp Volvo diesel engine powers the yacht, installed in 2018 with approximately 800 hours of running time. The rig includes two mast-mounted winches and four cockpit winches, with a spinnaker halyard run on a mast crane and Windex wind indicator aloft.

Below deck, the boat sleeps 5 to 6 in a convertible layout with good storage throughout. The galley features a stainless steel sink, two-burner stove, and icebox. A marine head is installed, and the boat carries modern electronics including a chart plotter, VHF radio, and depth finder. Solar panels support the electrical system.

The boat has undergone substantial work over recent years. In 2018, it received a new engine, shaft, stuffing box, propeller, fuel tank, and engine beds rebuilt in fiberglass only. The steering tiller was re-manufactured with minimal tolerance, and the rudder was epoxy-coated in 2019. Recent additions include a diesel heater, automatic electric bilge pump, new batteries, LED lights throughout, replaced drinking water hoses, and solar charge controller. All stanchions were removed and re-bedded, and the mast step support and foot were rebuilt with a carbon and mahogany assembly.
