1983 Pearson 303

The 1983 Pearson 303 is a 30-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat built to T. William Shaw's design, known for its balanced hull, stability, and seakindly performance. The boat features a fin keel with internal lead ballast and skeg-hung rudder, powered by a 13 HP Yanmar 2GMF diesel inboard with a 22-gallon fuel tank and bronze prop on a stainless steel shaft. The rig is a keel-stepped masthead design with a 2022 full-battened mainsail with two reefs, 100% working jib, and a North 155% furling genoa in near-new condition. Electronics include a Datamarine knot log and depth sounder, wind instrument, Standard Horizon VHF radio, auto pilot, and compass.

The interior combines light, airy spaces with teak accents and genuine cruising accommodations. The forward cabin sleeps two with a folding door for privacy and removable center insert to create standing room. The walk-in stateroom aft features a 6'6" quarter berth, while settees throughout the main cabin function as both comfortable berths and seating. Headroom runs 6'3" throughout. The head sits to starboard with standing headroom, a vanity with hot and cold pressure water, and a shower. An L-shaped galley includes a gimbaled two-burner alcohol stove with oven and a new LPG grill, while the 38-gallon pressure water system feeds a water heater. Storage is abundant—hanging lockers, wine bottle shelves, cookware bins, and a deep sink with locker below.

The self-bailing cockpit features radiused seats and angled backrests, with wheel steering, pedestal cover, and a large sail locker to port. Eight Lewmar opening ports and two deck hatches provide excellent cross ventilation. The boat includes dual 12v batteries with a 110v charger and auxiliary charger/compressor, 30A shore power with two 50-foot cords, and an electric bilge pump. Auxiliary equipment comprises a compass, chronometer, barometer, AM/CD stereo with cockpit speakers, stainless steel transom-mounted swim ladder with teak steps, bow and stern rails with double lifelines, safety gear, and dock lines. An 8-foot inflatable dinghy with 8 HP outboard and trailer complete the package. All maintenance has been professionally completed.
