The 1975 Amel Euros 41 is a fiberglass ketch built for serious cruising and extensively rebuilt to modern standards. Between 2007 and 2016, the hull was reinforced with epoxy resin and E-glass below the waterline, the underwater surfaces were repainted with multiple epoxy and polyurethane coats, and the cast iron keel was treated and sealed. The deck received new stainless steel 316L rails and stanchions, new Goiot hatches, carbon-fiber hardtop, and fresh polyurethane paint. A custom carbon-fiber bowsprit was installed to support a modern cutter rig with adjustable stays. All standing rigging was replaced in 2015 with oversized stainless steel wire and Sta-Lock terminals. The mizzen received an adjustable dyneema backstay for added stiffness.
The yacht carries a comprehensive suit of sails custom-made by Mack Sails in 2014 using Challenge Dacron: full-battened main and mizzen with multiple reefs, furling genoa, yankees, staysails, spinnakers, and mizzen staysail. New Lewmar Ocean self-tailing winches and HTX blocks were installed throughout the deck in 2016, all mounted on Goiot rails.
Interior accommodations include two cabins and two heads. The cabin interiors were stripped and rebuilt between 2013 and 2015 with cork insulation, solid mahogany joinery, plywood liners with polyurethane paint, varnished wooden frames, new lighting, and new latex foam mattresses. The galley features a two-burner ENO gas cooker with a monitored LPG system, plus two refrigeration boxes with keel cooling.
Power comes from a 1996 Yanmar 4JH2-TE diesel engine completely rebuilt in 2013 and installed in 2015 with 546 hours. The transmission is a Borg-Warner Velvet Drive with 2.91:1 ratio. A new bronze propeller and Aquametic shaft were fitted in 2016 with a dripless graphite stuffing gland. The electrical system was fully rewired between 2014 and 2015 with separate 12VDC and dual AC (110V/220V) systems. Power sources include 625Ah of AGM batteries, dual three-stage alternators, 180W solar panels with MPPT controller, and both wind and hydro generators. A Katadyn Power Survivor 80E watermaker produces 13 liters per hour. Fresh water capacity is 470 liters. Navigation electronics include B&G Hydra processor, Zeus Z8 GPS plotter, autopilot with MOB button, and broadband radar. Communication systems include VHF, AIS, and SSB radio with Pactor modem. The yacht comes with a West Marine 270 inflatable tender with 3.5hp Tohatsu outboard. An April 2025 survey reported the overall condition as above average with no deficiencies noted.
