A 1977 Alajuela A38 classic cutter with a full keel, designed for serious cruising under sail. The boat carries eight bronze portlights and a butterfly hatch for natural light and airflow below deck. A Monitor windvane is installed for self-steering offshore. The single 40 hp Isuzu diesel engine runs well, and the engine space has room for a generator if desired.
The sails are in excellent condition. Standing rigging was replaced in 2015, and new rope for the running rigging is included with the boat. The original external chainplates are in good condition. The fiberglass hull measures 38 feet in length with an 11.5-foot beam.
