Sourdough is a 1977 C&C 29 masthead sloop built on her keel in fiberglass. A two-owner fresh-water boat, she is recognized as an excellent sailing platform with capable lines suited to both comfortable cruising and club racing. The 30 HP Universal inboard engine drives a 2-bladed bronze prop and feeds from a 15-gallon fuel tank.
Below deck, six feet of headroom throughout allows comfortable movement. The layout sleeps five across a double forepeak berth, quarter berths, and settees, all with storage underneath. The removable center table in the main salon can be stowed to open the space. A navigation station sits forward of the companionway. The head, positioned between the forward cabin and saloon, features a port-side toilet and starboard vanity with sink and under-counter storage. The galley occupies the companionway steps, fitted with a sink and top-loading ice box, plus a gimbaled 4-burner stove with oven and galley storage behind the counter.
The deck and rig carry working sails by North: a mainsail with two reefs and cover, a 100% working jib, a 135% jib, and a 155% Mylar genoa (requiring work). A gennaker cruising spinnaker is also aboard. Hardware includes Barient primary and cabin-top winches, an Edson wheel steering with pedestal guard, and Ritchie binnacle compass. The self-bailing T-shaped cockpit has an Edson helm seat, two lockers, and bow and stern rails with double lifelines. Deck features include a stainless steel transom swim ladder, slotted aluminum toe rail, teak hand rails, and Dorade vents.
The boat carries substantial systems: dual 12V batteries with 30A shore power and 110V charger, VHF radio, AM/FM/CD stereo, depth sounder and knot meter, pressure water (20 gallons across two tanks), and a Wilcox Crittenden head with 19-gallon holding tank. Safety gear includes life jackets, fire extinguishers, life ring, and CO2 sensor. A Danforth anchor with rode and chain, four dock lines with snubbers, manual bilge pump, and a 2-person dinghy with oars complete the outfit. A steel 4-pad cradle with new pads and a winter storage cover are included. Manuals for all systems and equipment are on board.
