This 39-foot steel offshore cutter represents a proven bluewater design built for serious passage making and long-range cruising. Designed by Erwin Kruger and launched in 1985, the hull and deck were constructed between 1977–1978 with interior completion extending through 1985. Heavy steel construction throughout—featuring a 3/16-inch keel, 10-gauge hull sides on frames and longitudinal stringers, a full keel, cutaway forefoot, and skeg-hung rudder—provides the strength, directional stability, and seaworthiness needed for offshore sailing in all conditions. The yacht displaces 24,000 pounds and carries a single Yanmar 3QM30 diesel engine with 30 horsepower.
The interior accommodates extended cruising with a forward V-berth cabin, spacious main salon with convertible dinette, port and starboard quarter berths, functional offshore galley, dedicated navigation station, and enclosed head with shower. Storage throughout supports extended voyages. Systems include 55 gallons of fuel capacity with a dedicated day tank, 60 gallons of freshwater, and a 20-gallon holding tank. Electrical power comes from four 220Ah golf cart house batteries installed in 2023, supplemented by three 75-watt solar panels and a Group 27 start battery.
Navigation and deck systems reflect an offshore cruising focus. A Garmin 4214 GPS chartplotter, Lowrance X45 depth sounder, Raymarine X10 autopilot, and VHF radio handle navigation and communication. Sail handling equipment includes a double-spreader mast with mast steps to the masthead, ProFurl headsail furling system, Arco self-tailing primary winches, four Barlow 16 winches, and a Barlow 15 boom reefing winch. The sail inventory comprises a full batten mainsail, furling genoa, working jib, staysail, drifter, storm jib, and spinnaker. Ground tackle includes a 2023 Rocna 25KG anchor, 75 feet of chain rode, 300 feet of stainless steel wire rode, and a hydraulic windlass with below-deck drum system.
Maintenance records show an engine rebuild in 2005 with approximately 515 hours since. The hull and topsides were sandblasted and recoated with six coats of Interprotect 2000E epoxy in September 2014. A 2022 haul-out included application of long-life antifouling bottom paint. Regular diver inspections and zinc replacements occur approximately four times yearly, with the most recent inspection completed in May 2026. The full cockpit enclosure features a hard windscreen with tempered glass and canvas in exceptional condition, with window covers for all isinglass panels.
