1977 Fuji 45 MK II Ketch

This 1977 Fuji 45 MK II Ketch is a John Alden-designed clipper-bowed offshore cruising yacht built in fiberglass. The boat features a 45-foot hull with a 12-foot 8-inch beam and is powered by a 74 horsepower Yammer diesel engine paired with a new prop shaft and cutlass bearing.

The ketch carries a full suit of canvas including new mizzen, jib, and staysail, with the main sail in serviceable condition. Rigging includes newly installed stainless steel standing rigging that has been inspected annually since 2022, with mostly new running rigging throughout. The boat is equipped with a new roller furler for the headsail and a new Maxwell windlass for ground tackle.

Recent work encompasses substantial systems and structural upgrades. The engine is new, as are the circuit breaker panels and electrical systems. Accommodation improvements include two new heads with hoses, a new refrigerator, and refreshed interior salon cushions. The new Dodger frame is by Gemini, and lifelines have been replaced. A new inverter was installed for electrical management. The rudder bearing and shaft have been renewed.

The deck structure has been strengthened with an additional layer of fiberglass and finished with non-skid Awlcraft paint. Brightwork throughout the yacht has been renewed with eight to ten coats of Epifanes varnish, maintained annually. This traditional ketch is configured for blue-water cruising and extended offshore passages.
