The Cooper 416 Pilothouse is a classic cruising sailboat built in 1980 with a fiberglass hull measuring 41 feet long and 14.5 feet in beam. Designed by Stan Huntingford, the boat features a long chord fin keel and full skeg rudder that provide stability and performance in rough seas. A single Kubota diesel engine of 48 horsepower provides auxiliary power. The pilothouse design incorporates large windows throughout, creating a bright and open feeling despite the boat's solid cruising reputation.
The interior accommodates two cabins and one head, with thoughtful layout and generous storage throughout. The wide 14-foot beam amplifies the sense of space below decks. Dual helm stations allow comfortable steering in varying weather conditions, making extended cruising practical and accessible.
The boat has received substantial recent attention. New bottom paint, standing and sail tune-ups, and full engine servicing have been completed. A new Lewmar binnacle with single-lever shifter and throttle controls, folding wheel, and digital radar enhance functionality. Additional updates include a replacement hot water heater, electric head with fresh and saltwater flush capability, and a new dinghy. Starlink connectivity has also been installed.
