The Aztec Nautilus 40 is a Canadian-built fiberglass sailing yacht designed for extended cruising. At 40 feet with a 10.83-foot beam, she features dual helm stations and accommodates six berths, with substantial storage and a layout suited to shorthanded operation. All deck lines run aft to simplify handling underway.
Power comes from a 55 hp Perkins diesel engine. The yacht carries 400 gallons of water capacity and is equipped with solar power, hydraulic steering, and autopilot. Navigation electronics have been updated, and the boat includes dinghy davits, a hard bottom tender with outboard, and a liferaft.
Recent work includes a new rudder, mainsail with stack pack, dodger, solar charging system, deck work, epoxied bottom, propeller, alternator, and windlass. The hydraulic steering and dual stations provide redundancy for passage-making in demanding conditions.
