The 1981 Catalina 30 is a fiberglass coastal cruiser built on one of the most proven designs in the 30-foot sailing category. This example features the desirable Tall Rig configuration paired with a wing keel and 3'10" shoal draft, making it well-suited for exploring shallow coastal waters and anchorages. A bowsprit is installed. The masthead sloop rig delivers balanced sailing performance, and the boat is equipped with a 21-horsepower Universal diesel engine, autopilot, and two roller-furling genoas (150% and 140%).
The 10'10" beam provides surprising interior space for the size. Below decks, teak joinery throughout the cabin creates a warm, traditional aesthetic. The layout includes a spacious salon with port and starboard settees, a forward V-berth, an aft quarter berth, a single head, and good natural light and ventilation from overhead hatches.
Recent maintenance includes a new top and bottom coat applied in 2024, standing rigging replaced in 2022 with Sta-Lok fittings, and a new mast wiring, LED anchor light, and LED steaming/deck light combo also completed in 2022. A new water pump was installed in 2023. Running rigging is in good condition. The boat cruises at 5.5 knots and reaches approximately 6.7 knots at maximum speed.
