1984 Catalina 30

This 1984 Catalina 30 is a freshwater sailboat powered by a Universal M25 diesel engine with 1,600 hours of service life. The 30-foot fiberglass hull displaces 10,200 pounds with 4,200 pounds of external lead ballast, and carries a fin keel and spade rudder. The engine features a larger-than-stock heat exchanger and turns a Martec two-blade folding bronze propeller. Fuel capacity is 18 gallons; fresh water holds 43 gallons.

Accommodation systems include a Wilcox-Crittenden manual head, Origo 3000 alcohol stove, and a macerator installed two years ago. Electronics comprise a Signet depth sounder, Datamarine speed log and wind instruments, a standard VHF radio, and a Gemini binnacle compass. The boat has 30-amp shore power, a Noco Genius smart charger installed two years ago, and bilge pumping capability. A steel cradle, winter cover, and boarding ladder are included.

An October 2023 survey rated the hull in very good condition with no osmosis, blistering, or keel-to-keelson cracking. The keel-to-hull joint and internal keel sump were noted as clean. Douglas fir spreaders were recently replaced; a new working jib was added at the time of survey. Minor items noted in the survey include the speed-log paddlewheel fin, one house battery, alternator belt, a minor bilge-pump hose seep, and gelcoat dings—none requiring urgent attention.
