1992 Tripp 47

The Tripp 47 is a performance cruiser-racer designed by William H. Tripp III and built by Carroll Marine. With a beam of 13 feet 6 inches and a maximum draft of 9 feet, she balances racing capability with the spacious interior comfort uncommon in boats of her class. The hull is fiberglass, and she is powered by a Yammer diesel engine for reliable auxiliary propulsion.

Below deck, accommodations include three cabins and one head, with a newly installed table that seats six. The layout supports comfortable cruising for a family or small group, and the boat has proven capable of single-handed sailing. A comprehensive sail inventory rounds out her racing and cruising gear: fully battened cruising and racing mainsails, cruising roller-furling genoa, and a full array of working jibs including heavy #1 in carbon, plus #2, #3, and #4. Spinnaker inventory includes reacher, runner, and asymmetric configurations, along with older backup sails. Stack pack with lazyjacks and new Facnor cars are included.

Electronics and instrumentation are well-equipped: B&G 20/20 repeater on the mast, GPS plotter, VHF radio, and a RAM microphone for the cockpit. A 400 amp hour battery was installed in 2024. The keel was re-faired and re-bedded in 2021 using 4200 polysulfite. Additional equipment includes flatscreen television, four new jack stands with extensions, boat cover, and various safety gear. The boat has spent the past twelve years in fresh water.
