1982 S2 9.2 C

The 1982 S2 9.2 C is a 30-foot cruising sailboat built to an Arthur Edmonds design. Her integrated keel and skeg rudder deliver excellent tracking and control, while the moderate-aspect-ratio deck-stepped rig with a large mainsail balances performance on and off the wind. The wide beam and weight distribution keep the boat dry and comfortable in heavy seas, yet she accelerates in light air and sails efficiently close to the wind. The self-bailing center cockpit works well for both sailing and socializing.

Accommodation spans six sleeping spaces distributed throughout the roomy interior. The aft cabin is private with hanging locker and stowage. The main cabin features a convertible lounge with drop-leaf table that serves both sides for dining and can be moved to the cockpit. The forward V-berth, port settee (suitable for a child), and starboard settee (full length) complete the berth plan. Storage runs throughout—beneath all berths and in shelves, racks, and cupboards. A large stand-up head with shower and tub serves the cabin. The galley is positioned away from main traffic with ample cupboard and counter space. Interior trim in teak and teak-and-holly sole create a warm, finished appearance.

The boat runs on a single Yanmar 2GM diesel (16 hp) with 20-gallon fuel tank and bronze two-bladed prop. Mack Sails mainsail and 135% roller-furling genoa both date to 2013; original sails also remain aboard. Winches include two Lewmar #16 two-speed units and two Lewmar #30 primary winches. An Edson pedestal wheel with 28-inch destroyer wheel and wheel steering manage the helm. Navigation instruments include compass, depth finder, speed/log, barometer, inclinometer, and VHF radio. A 30-amp shore power inlet feeds a dual 12-volt battery system with 110-volt charger.

Cockpit features include a shower, dodger with shade, Sunbrella covers on hand rails, and a stowable table. Below deck, a 37-gallon fresh water tank connects to hot-and-cold pressure water system and foot pump. Galley has a stainless sink, one-burner hot plate stove with microwave beneath, and insulated refrigeration. A Jabsco head connects to a 20-gallon holding tank. Dual bilge pumps—electric and manual—handle drainage. The boat has been kept in fresh water only and was never chartered.
