1983 Catalina 30

This 1983 Catalina 30 Tall Rig is a classic 30-foot fiberglass sloop with a fin keel drawing 5'3". The boat carries a Universal MT25 21-horsepower diesel engine with 300 hours logged since overhaul. Built to displace 10,200 pounds with 4,200 pounds of ballast, the design offers 6'2" of headroom in a compact cruising layout. Water capacity is 18 gallons, fuel 18 gallons, and waste 17 gallons.

The rig and sail inventory reflect recent upgrades: a Quantum mainsail with two reef points and a 135% genoa with furling were both installed in 2021. Control systems include a CDI headsail furler, Lewmar self-tailing winches (a #40 pair on the cabin and a #16 on the cabin top), mast-mounted halyard winches, and Dyneema lazy jack lines added in 2023. The traveler, rope clutches, and all running lines are configured for single-handed sailing from the cockpit.

Electronics are comprehensive: Furuno FI-50 instruments for depth, speed, and temperature; a Furuno WS/WP weather station; Raymarine 4000 autopilot; Garmin 410 GPS; and a 24-inch LED television with mast antenna. The boat carries a Flagship Marine air conditioner with heating capability, Boss stereo, microwave, and isometric refrigeration and water heater. The interior has LED lighting throughout. New standing rigging dates to 2016, and the engine received a factory rebuild in 2018 with a larger heat exchanger, new supply hoses, and a Vetus aqua lift muffler. Recent work includes a new macerator in 2024, fresh canvas throughout in 2025, and epoxy bottom paint refreshed annually since its 2018 application. The boat comes with a steel cradle and custom winter cover.
