1983 Swiftships Charter Boat

The C/V Enterprise is a 1983 Swiftships aluminum commercial vessel, 54 feet long with a 17-foot beam. Built as a purpose-designed platform rather than a converted pleasure boat, she was originally engineered for Gulf of Mexico crew transport and has proven herself equally capable on demanding West Coast waters. Her welded aluminum semi-planing hull features heavy commercial framing throughout, a raked bow and rounded stern, with four watertight bulkheads and USCG-approved safety railings including port, starboard, and stern boarding gates.

Twin Detroit Diesel 12V-71TI engines deliver 550 horsepower each, paired with Twin Disc transmissions and commercial-grade shafting and bronze propellers. A Northern Lights 30 kW generator provides auxiliary power. The pilothouse sits elevated for commanding visibility and houses a centerline helm with full engine instrumentation and dual-station hydraulic steering. Navigation electronics include a Garmin 8612 XSV radar/chartplotter, two Garmin 1243 units, dual VHF systems with DSC and AIS, two SSB radios, and TimeZero charting software.

Below deck, the forward accommodation includes berthing for up to five in the foc'sle. The main cabin features multiple dinette and seating areas, a galley with full refrigeration and microwave ovens, an enclosed head, and a tool room. Spray-foam insulation provides noise and thermal control, while cabin heat and air conditioning maintain comfort. The lazarette houses steering gear, air storage tanks, a compressor, and battery systems. Fuel capacity is approximately 750 gallons, with 400 gallons each for fresh water and sewage.

The boat is USCG-inspected and equipped with a SOLAS-rated life raft, ACR Category I EPIRB, engine room CO₂ fire suppression, and full safety gear. Wide working decks include an electric windlass with commercial ground tackle and an aluminum crab davit with 12-crab block. Electrical systems feature new Blue Sea AC/DC panels, 120/240 VAC ship's power with shore connection and isolation transformer, and LED exterior lighting.
