1992 Commercial Long Liner

This 1992 commercial long liner, built by Dixon's Shipyard in Nova Scotia, is a 57.8-foot fiberglass displacement hull with a round-chine design. Powered by a Mitsubishi S6A2MPTA 425 hp diesel engine paired with a ZF marine transmission, the boat cruises at approximately 10 knots. The hull features solid fiberglass construction with fiberglass-encapsulated stiffeners and bilge keels for stability. The boat was designed and equipped for swordfish and halibut longline fishing operations.

Accommodations include a forecastle with seven bunks and galley, a wheelhouse with day bunk, a dedicated engine room, and a recently refurbished washroom with marine head and shower. The galley is fitted with new electric appliances—range, refrigerator, and microwave—with no propane systems. The forecastle and wheelhouse interiors have been freshly painted with wood paneling and cabinetry. New bunks are fitted with fresh mattresses, and a new 27,000 BTU air conditioning system services both the wheelhouse and forecastle. The fish hold is insulated and refrigerated with five pens per side, aluminum pen boards, and a new 2-ton flake ice machine.

The boat underwent extensive refit work from 2020 to 2022 at Dixon's Shipyard, including hull and superstructure restoration, new electronics package, new high-output 65 kW diesel generator, new steering gear, new keel cooling pipes, and professional exterior painting. Deck equipment includes a new Lingred-Pitman swordfish drum with line setter, new 14-inch line hauler, roof-mounted derrick with boom, and new aluminum spar with x-tree. The main engine was completely overhauled in 2011 and currently has approximately 15,000 hours. The boat carries 3,000 imperial gallons of fuel in four tanks—two original 600-gallon tanks forward and two newer 900-gallon tanks aft installed in 2010. A full suite of modern navigation and fishing electronics was installed new in 2020.
