1983 Tayana 37

This 1983 Tayana 37 is a fiberglass cutter designed by Bob Perry, built in Taiwan during a celebrated period for the builder. The yacht measures 36 feet 10 inches long with an 11-foot 6-inch beam and draws power from a single 30-horsepower Yanmar diesel. She sails at a cruising speed of 6 knots with a maximum of 7 knots and carries teak throughout her interior and exterior, including teak cockpit and side decks.

Below deck, three cabins and one head provide accommodation. The boat includes a galley with a Shipmate oven and Frigoboat refrigerator, a Dickinson propane heater, and a Raritan marine head. Power comes from a new 280-amp-hour LifePo4 house battery installed in 2026, supported by a Smartertools 2000-watt generator, a Xantrex Prowatt 1750 inverter, and solar panels. Electronics include Raymarinë GPS, autopilot, and depth sounder; Flyplotter wind direction; ICOM VHF radios; Ritchie compass; and an EM AIS 1000 transceiver.

Sail inventory consists of a Voyager battened mainsail, a Profurl N42 furling genoa, a staysail, and a yankee, all reported in good condition, supplemented by lazy jacks and a complete set of Barlow winches. Ground tackle includes a 20-kilogram Rocna anchor on 225 feet of 5/16-inch chain, a 35-pound ProXX anchor, and a 10-pound Danforth, managed by a Lofrans Royal manual windlass. A Yamaha 6-horsepower outboard motor and rowing dinghy are included.

Recent work encompasses a new battery charger and controller, bilge pump, and house water pump installed in 2026; a new flex coupling, staysail, and aft shrouds in 2018; and new exterior chain plates and bobstay pad eye in 2019. Fuel capacity is 100 gallons across two steel tanks, and water tankage is 100 gallons in stainless steel. The boat carries a full suite of safety equipment and includes a bimini top and cockpit covers.
