1984 Beneteau First 42
About This Yacht
The Beneteau First 42 is a 42-foot fiberglass sailing yacht with a 12-foot beam, powered by a Yanmar diesel engine. Built in 1984, she combines classic cruising capability with modern upgrades that enhance comfort and self-sufficiency at sea.
The yacht is equipped with 400 watts of solar power and an onboard water maker, supporting extended cruising independence. New sails were purchased within the past year, seeing minimal use of just four to five times. Below deck, she features new memory foam mattresses for improved comfort. The boat includes a Portland Pudgy tender in yellow, rigged with a sail kit and configured with an exposer canopy to meet Coast Guard specifications as a four-person lifeboat. The tender is powered by a Honda 2.3 outboard with under 200 hours of operation and a Temo electric motor with a new lithium ion battery rated at 1.75 horsepower.
