1984 Catalina 36

The Catalina 36 is a proven cruising sailboat with a functional interior layout suited to extended passages and liveaboard use. The deck accommodates a full sail plan—main, genoa, and storm jib—all roller furling or fully battened, with standing and running rigging replaced in 2025. Power comes from a 21 hp Universal diesel engine. The boat carries substantial navigation and piloting capability: Garmin chartplotter, Raymarine autopilot, radar, and VHF radio with a dedicated nav station on the starboard side of the main cabin.

Below, the arrangement centers on the main saloon with a convertible table on port and wraparound seating that converts to an extra bunk. Forward lies a private v-berth cabin with good storage. The galley sits port-side near the companionway with a double sink, Force 10 stove and oven, and refrigeration. The head compartment on port includes a shower. An aft cabin houses a long seat and a double bunk beneath the cockpit sole that forms a king-sized bed with a filler cushion.

Recent major updates include new standing and running rigging, roller furling hardware, and a new holding tank macerator all completed in 2025. The hull received fresh paint in 2024. Systems include a newer 16K air conditioner, newer head pump, three bilge pumps, 720-watt solar array with Victron controller and charger, 3000-watt inverter, and AGM start battery replaced in 2025. Navigation and entertainment electronics include Garmin plotter, Raymarine autopilot, stereo with Bose speakers, and a Samsung smart TV. The boat carries four anchors, dinghy davits, lifesling, and is configured for single-handed operation.
