1984 Catalina 36

This 1984 Catalina 36 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built on one of the most proven designs of its era. The deck was repainted a few years ago and recently received a professional hull and deck wax. The standing rigging was replaced in 2018, and a near-new mainsail was installed in 2019 or 2020. The Harken furler and Lewmar self-tailing winches support the sailing inventory, with running rigging in good to very good condition.

Below deck, the traditional layout includes a salon and galley with a two-basin stainless sink, raw-water foot pump, natural-gas stove and oven, and a recently upgraded top-loading refrigerator. A marine head with shower sump and substantial dry-goods storage serve extended cruising needs. LED lighting and vent fans have been added throughout.

The Universal 21-horsepower diesel engine powers the yacht, with recent upgrades to the riser, elbow, and heat exchanger. Electrical systems include Renogy solar panels, dual West Marine batteries, and a multifunction generator. A Magma grill is mounted in the cockpit. Recent additions include a new VHF radio and stereo system. Some systems such as the autopilot gyro and macerator may benefit from attention, though the core structure and fundamentals remain solid.
