1984 DeFever 41 Trawler

The 1984 DeFever 41 is a fiberglass trawler with solid construction and a long keel designed for stable cruising along the California and Mexico coasts. The single Perkins diesel engine produces 135 horsepower and delivers fuel-efficient cruising at 12 knots. Two bow and stern thrusters with dedicated battery banks provide precise maneuvering in tight spaces.

The layout accommodates couples and small families with two cabins and two heads. The aft head includes a tub and shower. Extensive seating is arranged both in the cabin and on deck, with recent upholstery throughout. Navigation equipment includes Furuno radar and GPS, VHF antennas, and an electric windlass. A new stereo system is installed.

Exterior work completed in 2024 included new bottom paint, refinished mahogany rub rails, full hull compounding and waxing, new boot stripes, and seven fresh coats of varnish on all exterior mahogany stripped to bare wood. All teak flooring was restored and sealed. The house was completely repainted with new Sunbrella canvas, and new seat cushions were fitted throughout.

Interior upgrades in 2024 added recent varnish on all brightwork, new cushions and seats, a new stainless refrigerator, and new lighting. In 2025, new bow and stern thrusters were installed, thirteen new batteries (including dedicated thruster banks) were fitted, the engine received full service, a high-output alternator was added, and both fuel tanks were professionally polished.
