The Schock NY 36 is a 36-foot fiberglass racer-cruiser designed by naval architect Bill Cook for the New York Yacht Club as a high-performance one-design capable of both competitive racing and extended family cruising. Built by W.D. Schock, the boat combines responsive handling with practical seaworthiness.
Below deck, the interior follows an open-plan layout with a V-berth forward, an enclosed head to port fitted with a marine vanity and shower, and starboard-side hanging lockers and storage drawers. This arrangement balances sleeping capacity with day-sailing comfort.
The boat has received substantial recent upgrades including new B&G Instruments and radio with ASI capability (2020), a new backstay system (2023), new jib halyard (2020), and LED conversion throughout the cabin and navigation lighting (2020). The bottom was refinished in 2024. Power comes from a Volvo Penta diesel engine installed in 2006.
