The 1985 Baba 35 is a Robert Perry–designed blue-water cruiser built by Ta Shing, Taiwan's respected yacht builder. She embodies the full-keel offshore design philosophy—solid, capable, and built to last. The hull is reinforced fiberglass with a full keel and skeg-mounted rudder, displacing approximately 21,140 pounds. A 32-horsepower Universal diesel four-cylinder engine provides auxiliary power. The masthead cutter rig offers versatility and proven balance for ocean passagemaking, with excellent tracking and comfortable motion in a wide range of conditions.
Below deck, Ta Shing's signature teak joinery sets the interior apart. The layout is thoughtfully arranged with a comfortable salon, multiple secure storage areas, and clean headliners throughout. Cushions remain in good condition. The cockpit is deep and secure, fitted with a canvas enclosure. Teak decks and non-skid fiberglass surfaces are well maintained.
The hull and deck structure are sound. The fiberglass hull shows no cracks, blisters, or deformation. The full keel is structurally strong with no grounding damage. Bilges are clean and dry, with sound structural bulkheads. The hull-to-deck joint is secure and stress-free. Stainless railings, bow rail, handrails, and stanchions are in excellent condition. The GRP superstructure shows no gelcoat cracking, and the companionway and roof structure are strong. Interior joinery is excellent with no water intrusion or structural moisture issues observed. This is a proven offshore platform suitable for confident sailing and comfortable cruising.
