This 1985 Crowther Buccaneer is a 36-foot fiberglass trimaran with a 23.5-foot beam, designed and custom-built by Lock Crowther. The boat features a masthead sloop rig with a deck-stepped aluminum mast and new aluminum bow sprit. Standing rigging is 1x19 stainless steel wire with mechanical fittings, and running rigging is polyester double braid. The trimaran is known for good speed and responsive handling, and can be sailed comfortably by two people or accommodates larger crews.
The boat is equipped with multiple winches including three Barlow 16s, two Setamar 780/42-2s, and an Enkes 18, along with Lewmar, Easylock, and Ronstan rope clutches. An arch-mounted Harken main traveler and Schaefer genow tracks round out the deck hardware. Navigation equipment includes a Mariner 3500 VHF radio, Platismo Contest compass, and Eagle Magna III depth sounder. A retractable engine mount is fitted.
The accommodations include one cabin and one head. The interior requires cleaning and new cushions. The hull is solid composite FRP/Epoxy construction with some fiberglass repairs needed, though nothing structural. The deck is solid. The sails are new and barely used. A gasoline engine is aboard, though noted as underpowered for the boat's size; a longer-shaft motor would improve handling under power.
