The Bayfield 36 is a Canadian-built cruising sailboat designed by Hayden Gozzard, with production limited to 1985–1988. She combines traditional styling—clipper bow, trailboards, teak combings—with modern elements like an aluminium toerail and beamy interior. The 36-foot hull is solid fiberglass with molded inserts for interior structure, while the deck is balsa cored. A keel-stepped mast and 6,500 pounds of internal lead ballast provide stability and seaworthiness.
Below deck, the accommodation is notably spacious for the boat's size. Two cabins, a head with tub, and a large salon make extended cruising comfortable. The boat carries 45 gallons of fuel in aluminium tanks, with plastic tanks for water and holding. Chainplates are tied into bulkheads or reinforced stubs bonded to the hull for solid rig support.
The current owner has maintained the boat with regular upgrades and additions throughout ownership. The traditional construction and thoughtful design make this a capable offshore cruiser built to last.
