The Moody 376 is a British-built center-cockpit cruiser from 1987, designed by Bill Dixon. At just under 38 feet, the boat combines solid fiberglass construction with a fin keel and partial skeg-hung rudder, built to handle extended passagemaking. Power comes from a Beta Marine B38 diesel engine rated at 38 hp, installed in 2019 with approximately 1,280 hours. The yacht carries 45 gallons of fuel and 60 gallons of water, with a 10-gallon hot water tank and 10-gallon holding tank.
The interior arranges across two cabins and two heads. Forward is a guest cabin with V-berth and private access to its head. The main saloon features a centerline table with settees to either side, galley to port, and navigation station to starboard. The full-beam owner's cabin aft offers exceptional space for a yacht this size, with a private ensuite and abundant ventilation through opening ports and a hatch. A sea berth with storage sits between the saloon and master cabin. The galley is U-shaped and well-designed for cooking underway. A Webasto T90 hydronic heater and Caframo fans support year-round cruising comfort.
Recent updates include a new Force Ten oven and stove (2019), new Indel Webasto compressor fridge and freezer (2024), and a fresh mainsail cover (2024). The 130% genoa is from 2022. Electronics are comprehensive: Raymarine ES78 hybrid chartplotter with integrated radar, Quantum digital radar, Smart Pilot X-30 autopilot, and SGC PowerTalk SSB/HF radio with Pactor modem. A Hydrovane windvane provides passive steering and serves as emergency rudder. Power systems include 380 watts of solar panels, 480 amp-hours of house battery, and a 1,000-watt inverter-charger. The 120-amp Balmar alternator with external regulator handles efficient charging. Hull maintenance was completed in March 2025, with engine oil changed in October 2025.
