The 1987 Nonsuch 30 Ultra is a cruising sailboat built around the principle of uncomplicated, comfortable sailing. Her signature unstayed mast and wishbone boom eliminate the complexity of conventional sloops—no headsails to trim during tacks, no shrouds to manage, and one person can easily handle the boat while others enjoy the experience. The fiberglass hull measures 30 feet in length with an 11-foot beam and draws just 4 feet, making her well-suited to shallow-water cruising.

This boat stands apart through an electric propulsion system: a Quiet Torque 10kW motor powered by a 48V 415Ah AGM battery bank, paired with a stern thruster for responsive docking. Electric drive also enables regenerative charging under sail and solar charging capability. A custom fiberglass hardtop frames the cockpit, providing shade and weather protection with removable windows for variable conditions. The rig is complemented by an electric Lewmar primary winch and a windlass with wireless remote control.

The Nonsuch interior is notably spacious for her size, with a galley featuring an induction cooktop and Isotemp marine water heater. Navigation and autopilot systems include a Raymarine unit and Garmin chartplotter. The boat has one head and accommodations designed for comfortable cruising.
