1987 Nonsuch 30U

The Nonsuch 30 Ultra is a 30-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1987, powered by a 27-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine. This model is known for its full draft keel and capable offshore design, combining seaworthiness with manageable single-handed sailing characteristics.

The boat's systems have been extensively updated and maintained. The engine features a new folding propeller installed in 2019. Water systems include a 30-gallon main cabin tank and 40-gallon forward tank, both replaced in 2023, along with a new Jabsco head from 2021. A new Rule automatic bilge pump was installed in 2020. Power generation comes from two 50-watt solar panels with Victron charge controller, supported by batteries replaced in 2023 and a 1000-watt inverter. The propane system was professionally run with shut-off valves in 2021, feeding both a Force10 gimbaled stove and oven from 2018 and a new Excel propane water heater from 2025.

Electronics include a Garmin 740S GPS with wind data, Simrad autopilot, iComIC-M302 VHF radio, Vespar Marine 8000 AIS installed in 2024, and a newly installed Garmin GMI wired wind pack. Navigation is supported by a Richie compass that was overhauled in 2020 with new card and oil. Cabin and head areas have LED lighting throughout.

The boat carries a Halsey Lidgard mainsail in good condition plus an original Doyle mainsail, with gel coat in very good condition. Exterior upgrades include a new dodger with extension and clear foul weather curtains from 2018, all exterior wood converted to PlasTeak handrails, and a cockpit floor grate. Interior features a custom pillow top in the forward berth. The fuel tank was replaced in 2007 with 45-gallon capacity.
