This 31-foot JC Provincetown is a fiberglass downeast built in 1988. The boat is powered by a Caterpillar 3208 diesel engine producing 320 horsepower, which was rebuilt in 2021 and has accumulated approximately 300 hours of operation since that rebuild. The transmission was completely overhauled at the same time.
A comprehensive mechanical and systems refresh was performed in 2021. The fuel system received new aluminum tanks with 65-gallon capacity on each side, along with new fuel lines. The engine was fitted with re-manufactured cylinder heads, new fuel injectors, starter, alternator, and raw water pump. New engine mounts, a self-aligning shaft seal, cutlass bearing, and shaft coupling were installed. The transmission cooler, lube oil cooler, and main heat exchanger were serviced or replaced. All hoses on the engine are new, as are the front and rear main seals. Steering was upgraded with hydraulic rear steering and a control station, supported by new Morse controls with aircraft cable.
Electronics include two Garmin GPS units, a Furuno fishfinder and depthsounder installed in 2021, and an older Furuno radar. The boat is equipped with an EPIRB and a 6-person life raft. The deck was replaced in 2021, and the Eisenglass was renewed in 2020. A 2022 survey is available.
