A 1989 Gulfstar 50 designed by Vince and Richard Lazarra, this fiberglass cruising yacht was built to handle serious offshore passages. The boat has logged over 10,000 nautical miles across the US East Coast, Bahamas, Caribbean, and Pacific, including a passage from Panama to Brisbane. Displacing 22 gross tons, she features a deep fin keel hull designed to maintain momentum in variable conditions and sails smoothly in winds over 10 knots.
The yacht accommodates up to seven people across a practical interior layout. A V-berth sleeps two forward, the saloon includes a convertible double berth and drop-down feature, a single berth sits to starboard, and a private aft cabin contains a queen berth with ensuite head and shower accessed via separate companionway. Two large top-loading refrigeration boxes and a dedicated freezer support extended cruising, along with reverse cycle air conditioning across three zones, a water maker, and a 40-liter hot water system. Fresh water capacity is 450 gallons and diesel capacity approximately 165 gallons.
Power comes from a 75 hp Yaman turbo diesel with 2,068 hours on the engine, supported by a 9.5 kW Kubota generator at roughly 1,900 hours. Sails and rigging are in sound condition: a new high-end genoa was fitted in 2021, standing rigging and chainplates were replaced in 2018, and the main sail dates to 2013. The topsides were painted in 2017 and the hull repainted in 2024. A scuba compressor, full toolkit, and spare parts inventory are included.
